Also named the Starfruit due to its appearance sliced, this sweet and tangy fruit is entirely edible. The waxy skin turns from green to yellow, with the ridges slowly turning brown, getting sweeter as it ripens. Originally from Southeast Asia, the Carambola is most often eaten fresh out of hand, but is also used in salads, jellies, cocktails, or as a garnish.
