Mamey Sapote

Described as a combination of a sweet potato, pumpkin, honey, and an almond, the taste of a Mamey Sapote is truly unique. The sandpaper texture of the brown outer skin hides the creamy orange flesh that is often eaten out of hand or made into milkshakes. Scrape off a little of the skin with your nail, if you see orange, it's ready to eat.
