Tamarillo

Also know as the Tree Tomato, this egg shaped fruit from South America has a sweet, savory and tangy pulp with a bitter skin that looks like a tomato when cut in half. Can be eaten by scooping out the pulp with a spoon, or made into a traditional juice. The Tamarillo is available in golden and red varieties.
